Presentation Evening 2019

Tonight the sqn celebrated a year's worth of achievements at our annual Presentation Evening. Welcoming family, friends and sqn supporters as well as town Mayor Greg Rose and his husband, Wing Commander Helene Gould, OC Sussex Wing, Sqn Ldr Kit Ridley, DepOC Sussex Wing and Air Commodore (Retd) Nick Randle, honorary president of Sussex Wing cadets led the presentations with an informative PowerPoint presentation showing what the sqn had been involved with for the last year.

A busy month for the squadron

The sqn has had a few busy weekends with successes at the Wing Training Day Aircraft Recognition, modelling and photographic competitions two weeks ago, first place in the Wing Swimming Gala one week ago and then last Saturday supporting Baronsmede's winning float at Crowborough Carnival!

1414 Cadets at Airshows

Over the course of this weekend, cadets from 1414 squadron have been helping out at two different airshows; Biggin Hill Festival of Flight and Airborne: Eastbourne International Airshow. Cadets spoke with members of the public about some of the incredible opportunities provided by RAFAC, and some were lucky enough to go airside beyond the crowdline to look at some display aircraft!

1414 Cadet completes pilot scholarship

After two weeks in Dundee spent conducting 12 hours of flying training and culminating in a solo flight at the end of the fortnight, CWO Georgia Allison has completed the ACPS scholarship!
